World Design Rankings 2014 finally announced

Every December WDR announces the World Design Rankings in arts, architecture and design, based on the number of awards won by each nation at the popular A’Design Award & Competition.

This classification aims to provide additional data and insights to economists and journalists regarding the state-of-art in design industry, and contains golden informations about the nations leading the design world.

2014 has been an incredible year for A’Design Award & Competition, seeing an unprecedented number of 79 countries represented in the contest.

WDR also compiled a sub-ranking for each nation, giving us further informations about which designers have been the most active and successful during this year and the 2010-2014 timespan.

In the table below you can see the up-to-date standings regarding the 2010-2014 years, with the United States leading the ranking, followed in the top 5 by Turkey, Hong Kong, Italy and Great Britain.

designer-rankings-big A world ranking listing the singular designers is available too. You can browse through all the winners by visiting the Designer Rankings website, that classifies every person who ever won an A’Design Award.

dac-logoIf in addition to that you are eager to see the the rankings for every single design categories, such as interior space design, furniture, packaging, architecture or graphics, you can explore all of them by looking at the Design Classification site, where all the design categories are ordered by competitiveness and difficulty coefficient.

As you can see from the table aside, each award assigns a precise score to the nation of the winning designer, with 6 points for the Platinum Award, 5 for the Gold, 4 for the Silver, 3 for the Bronze and 2 for the Iron.

A’Design Award and Competition is one of the most relevant and respected design contests in the world, rewarding the best designs in a wide range of categories.
