Karma was the type of cat you’d definitely shed a tear for. When she was rescued by a local shelter, she already had both her ears and her tail cut off. Due to such horrible event in her life, it was hard for her trust anyone again. With help from Humane Society Silicon, Karma was given a foster home in hopes of restoring her faith in humanity. Meanwhile, Carla Berti, a volunteer of the shelter was smitten by Karma’s state. She knew she had to do something special for that cat. She had the brilliant idea of crocheting a pair of pink ears for the poor kitten, plus a kitty bed and a toy mouse to match. After a few weeks of being in the shelter, Karma finally overcame all her fears. She soon found her perfect match, a young woman and a siblling to spend the rest of her life with. “The wounds were mostly healed, but understandably, she was very frightened of almost everything, especially humans,” Michelle Nicholson, publicist for the Humane Society Silicon Valley, told Love Meow.
The local shelter reached out to Humane Society Silicon Valley to give her utmost attention. She was given a foster home where she could move on from her terrible past.

With tons of care and heart full of love, Karma was able to face life confidently. Now, she could’t be happier with a new mom and a kitty sibling to spend the rest of her life with.
