The rise of One World Trade Center, timelapse (2004-2013)

12 years ago the world was shocked by the terrible attack to the World Trade Center. Since then an indelible image’s imprinted within each of us.

It seems incredible so much time has passed, the memory of those two giants collapsing like sand castles on a warm September morning is still vivid.

Like in fairy tales, after each fall there must be a rise, it took 12 years but New York has a new symbol to show to the world its own rebirth.

As many of you know, the One World Trade Center is a skyscraper 1776 feet tall (541 meters).
1776 is not a random number, as it represents the year of the Declaration of Independence of the United States.

Earth Cam shows us this beautiful timelapse where we can see the whole process of construction, from 2003 to 2014.
