A tiny kitten was found all alone at the side of the road in Ontario, Canada.

The little baby only weighed 82 grams, but after being rescued and brought to the Tiny but Mighty Kitten Rescue, she was found to be surprisingly spry and active.

Despite being left alone at such a young and vulnerable age, the kitten was determined to live and thrive, and luckily, she’d finally ended up in the perfect place.

The little kitten was given the name Janie, and Mellissa, the founder of Tiny but Mighty Kitten Rescue, immediately set about giving her the best care possible.

Little Janie had been born with a fever coat, a type of silvery coat that can occur when the mother cat is ill or stressed during pregnancy.

Luckily, this isn’t dangerous, and kittens with fever coats usually grow into their true colour after a while.

Since Janie was so little, she needed round the clock care.

Not only did she need regular feedings, but she was also too young to properly regulate her heat, which meant that she spent much of her time cuddled up in an incubator.

But after just three days under Mellissa’s loving care, Janie had crossed the 100-gram mark and was proving what a little fighter she was.

It was clear that the little kitten had a great zest for life.

While Janie was busy eating and growing, she caught the attention of another one of Mellissa’s rescues; June

A few weeks before Janie arrived, Mellissa had rescued a very sweet, very pregnant stray cat.

After fostering the expectant mother for a few weeks, Melissa was delighted to welcome a litter of beautiful, newborn kittens to the world.

June proved to be a very good and dedicated mother, and when she, a few weeks a later, heard the tiny meows of a new little kitten in the house, her instincts told her that she needed to help.

June began observing Janie through the incubator and was so desperate to love and nurture the little kitten that she would cry while watching the kitten through the glass.

But finally, when Janie had reached two weeks of age, she was finally big and healthy enough to leave the incubator and be introduced to her new mom.

When June and Janie finally got to meet each other properly, June was ecstatic.

“June immediately accepted Janie as her own as soon as I was able to safely introduce them,” Mellissa said in an interview with Love Meow.

June began licking the little kitten and cleaning her all over, and then cuddled up together with her and her other babies.

Since then, Janie has been a natural part of the little feline family.

Janie, having been hand-reared, doesn’t nurse her adoptive mom, but she loves cuddling with her and her new siblings while her brothers and sisters nurse.

She especially loves her sister Jasmine, who’s always been giving her extra love and attention.

Jasmine is always kissing and cuddling Janie, and Janie just can’t get enough.

She thinks Jasmine is the best big sister a little cat could dream of.

Janie is roughly two weeks younger than her siblings, but she’s keeping up with them the best she can.

She’s got a wonderfully energetic and positive personality and loves exploring.

Now, Janie’s passed the four-week-mark and has begun trying solid foods.

She’s also crossed the one-pound-mark and is growing bigger and stronger each day.

Janie is turning into an amazing little cat, and it’s clear that she is exactly where she’s supposed to be.

The spunky little kitten has a wonderful and exciting life ahead fo her, and it’s all thanks to her two mommies, Mellissa and June.
