Matthew Cusick is a New York based artist best known for his incredible collages portraying lifelike subjects such as animals, humans, waves and roads. What he basically does is slicing pieces of all kind of maps, picking them up from roadmaps, textbooks or atlases. Subsequently he masterfully positions all those pieces to create a lifelike artwork. He uses several kind of maps in order to represent various colors. He often uses acrylic paint or home made walnut ink to add some more shading to its creations. The results are absolutely impressive, we really never thought that somebody could make art out of roadmaps. If you want to see more work by Matthew, just take a look at his website: mattcusick.com.
