Have you ever wondered how would your favorite superheroes have looked like if their adventures were set in the 16th century? Probably such question never came to your mind before, but good for us that’s something French photographer Sacha Goldberger asked himself before creating the original photo series Super Flemish, where he depicts some of the most popular pop culture characters as nobles from the 16th century.
Super Flemish has been a gigantic project, that took 2 years and the help of 12 people to complete.
The first thing you notice looking at these images is the amazing attention to detail and the beautiful look of the costumes, with some fantastic details like the pattern on Iron Man’s mask that make us understand how much effort the artist put into the realization of this series.
If looking at these photos you are thinking that there’s too much Photoshop involved, you should know that make-up artists and lights did an incredible job (with make-up sessions lasting many hours) into making the models look just like their cinematic counterparts.
We just loved this photo series, and if you like it as much as we did, take a look at Sacha Goldberger’s website and Facebook page.
