Local authorities in Istanbul had an amazing idea for solving the problem of stray animals. Residents can recycle bottles in a vending machine, which, in exchange, provides free food for stray cats and dogs.
There are around 150,000 stray animals on the streets of Turkey.  Many pets are abandoned, but there also are issues such as smuggling or the existence of illegal pet shops at stake. Local people have a history of opposing government measures, so there had to be an imaginative and efficient initiative.
Turkish Company Pudgeon created these vending machines for recycling bottles. It’s very easy to use them and they also turn out to be very helpful for the community. The money made out of recycling is used for buying food for the stray animals.
As a consequence, citizens can give a hand to struggling animals and this definitely helps raising the awareness. We all feel like more world cities’d need machines like these.
