Unfortunately, there are people in the world who take it upon themselves to spread hate and racism and it’s not uncommon to come across a piece of racist graffiti.

Thankfully, there are also people in the world who are actively taking a stance against racism and making it clear that hate will not be tolerated.

And in Manchester, someone has started to combat racist graffiti in a simultaneously cute and badass way.

An unknown person has seemingly had enough of seeing racist graffiti taint the city and has begun covering it up with…cat stickers.

The stickers, who are created by Cracks Appearing Distro feature a tabby cat and the text:

“There was some racist rubbish here, but I covered it up with this picture of a cat.”

The stickers have been spotted all around Manchester and many people are praising the unknown person behind them.

The sticker works so well because it blocks out the racist messages but does not hide the fact that racism has occurred.

This is important, as some people seem to be unaware that racism is still a problem in modern society and claim that it’s a thing of the past.

Unfortunately, racism is still very much a problem and in order to combat it, we can’t just pretend we don’t see it.

Instead, we need to recognize the fact that racism still exists and take action to change that.

Whoever is putting up these stickers is both getting rid of disgusting hate speech – that nobody should have to see – and drawing attention to the ongoing need to fight racism.

Many people who’ve spotted the stickers have posted them online and praised the person behind them and many more people have undoubtedly been affected and inspired by the stickers.

It shows us that even small acts can have a huge influence, and we can all do something to make the world a better place.
