Matt Weber has spent 30 years photographing people in New York, he has been through everything, from violence to homelessness and has lived and breathed the essence of the city.

But what captivates us the most about his work is the way he managed to stop time and space in his series “Lovers”, where we can admire the most romantic side of New York.

“That’s the good thing about New York street photography,” Weber said. “You get sad, happy, funny—the whole spectrum. And they can all be good. Occasionally, it’s over the top. Young people tend to do that—spend half an hour groping,” continues “Maybe it’s not exhibitionism so much as being overwhelmed. The first time you fall in love as a teenager is a really powerful thing.”

Look at a glimpse of Weber’s work below.
