Alex Seton is a Sydney based artist who graduated from the College of Fine Arts, UNSW in 1998.

Seton is mainly known for his lifelike sculptures carved out of marble.
We were impressed by the realism of the sculptures that we show you today, it’s amazing how this artist manages to recreate the feeling of a soft object like hooded sweatshirts or t-shirts using carving a block of marble.

He has exhibited in numerous group exhibitions over the years, including Variable Truth (4A Gallery, 2012), Look Closely Now (Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery, 2012), Arc Biennale (Queensland College of Art, 2007) and the Woolahra Small Sculpture Prize, which he won in 2009. In 2012 Seton undertook the prestigious Art Omi International Artist Residency in upstate New York. He has participated in international sculpture symposiums in Italy, Spain and China.
